  • You will feel your heart beting.

"Yaegaki-kai" is a club with an old history. It was established in 1931 in Osaka and has continued to this day.
Because the club has an old history, we try to absorb new things, learn and enjoy practicing with new members.

  • Practising

Through "Iai-dou", we hope that you will train your mind rather than your body.
The word, "begin and end with a bow" is used casually in everyday life, but it was originally used in ”Iai-dou". Let's try it now.

  • Martial arts for everyday life.

We learn "Iai-dou" and strive to find a lifelong path of human development while paying attention to safety and health.
"Iai-dou" is a way to learn from each other across generations.
Our goal is to practice Iaido as a culture that seeks the "way" through "skill" and to develop a rich sense of life while enhancing the vitality of society.

  • Building self-confidence
The first time you hold a sword in your hand, you feel an elation.

We start practicing with mock swords and wooden swords. After a few years, you will want a Japanese sword.
By slowly learning the use of the sword or the sword skills, you can understand the depth of "Iai-dou".

  • Gender and age have nothing to do with "Iai-dou".

We do not wield our swords with "force".There are many teachers who are 80 years old and 90 years old.
Elementary school students also enjoy practicing.(As of March 2018, the number of registered masters with a "Dan" (i.e., a higher grade) in "Iai-dou" is 94,189 out of which 12,560 are female according to "All Japan Kendo Federation".)

  • kind to others and strict with oneself

Unlike sports in general, we do not say "Renshu" (i.e., practice). We say we do "Keiko" (i.e., practice). (In English, "Renshu" and "Keiko" are both translated as "practice" and/or "train")
Think about the past and make use of it today.
It will be fun to know more about "Iai-dou" and gradually become fun to participate in the training.

  • Step by step learning

By mastering the "dan", "Iai-dou" becomes even more fun.
That becomes a goal, and it helps you to practice more.
It is important to build up the basics first.
We think it is the same in society.
"Yaegaki-kai" (i.e., our club), which has a long history, has many manuals on how to teach.

  • The boughs that bear most hang lowest

when you are in the position to teach from the position to be taught, it is your own turning point.
We will never forget our original intention, thank the teachers who taught us the lessons, and we will continue to teach the beginners.
This is the history of Yaegaki-kai's tradition.
It is a martial art based on the dignity of each other.

  • There must be some connection.

There are many people who have never been involved in "Kendou", "Karate", "Aikidou" or sports in general.
So you can go forward step by step.
Whether you are young or old, "Iai" is a slow, fun, and strict way to build your own confidence.
